Denim trousers and jackets are the core products. They have a distinctly individual and unconventional aesthetic and are elaborately crafted. Embroideries, rhinestones, long fringes and metal chain details are typical of the denim looks from Foam of the Day.
The brand was founded in 2019 by Kristina Ivkovic. After graduating from the Accademia di Brera in Milan, she decided to create a brand that doesn’t produce waste, but instead recycles existing garments and gives them a new lease of life. To this day, upcycling is an important core element for the brand.
Foam of the Days also empowers local communities by sourcing the fabrics they need locally. It also supports people who have low incomes and pensions, but have excellent craftsmanship skills and thus create high quality products. The fact that the garments are largely made by hand makes them even more sustainable, not least because no energy is used for sewing machines.
The designer has opted for denim in her creations because she believes it has a modern and timeless aesthetic and is universally suitable for all sizes and genders. Ivkovic goes by the fact that ‚denim has a soul which blossoms with time and is enhanced by the body which has worn it‘.
Every single garment is unique. Almost every look is hand-sewn by artisans, with some jackets made from up to 300 metres of hand-sewn knitting yarn and taking a week to produce.
