Autorin: Tays Jennifer Köper-KelemenNORDLICHT was founded by Maritta and Nico, two friends who met during their studies. Inspired by their travels and a deep love for nature, they set out to create fair and certified sustainable fashion made from natural fabrics – timeless, honest, and made for everyday life. Today, together with their team in Southern Germany, they pursue the vision of making sustainable slow fashion accessible to more people and turning conscious consumption into a new standard.
NORDLICHT collections are defined by a minimalist design language inspired by the calm, clarity, and light of the North. The looks are uncomplicated, versatile, and easy to combine, offering everyday essentials that feel both natural and effortless. Soft color palettes, honest textures, and carefully selected natural fabrics such as organic cotton, linen, wool, Ecovero, and Tencel create a quiet elegance with a focus on comfort and authenticity. Produced fairly and transparently in Portugal and Europe, each piece is made in small, demand-driven batches to avoid overproduction and to honor resources. With a circular approach, GOTS certification, and even a free repair service, NORDLICHT stands for fashion that lasts — sustainable, fair, and always true to its values.
At NORDLICHT, the focus lies not only on what is created, but on how it is made. Production takes place in collaboration with carefully selected partners in Europe who share the same values of fairness, transparency, and sustainability. The GOTS certification guarantees independent audits as well as high social and environmental standards. More than just a label, it represents a verifiable sign of responsibility. Fair fashion emerges where people work together with respect, which is why NORDLICHT builds on long-term partnerships with manufacturers and workshops that live these values day after day.
